On March 13, 2020, Thomas Starr King Middle School got the news that school would be out for two weeks. I didn’t think it would be that bad, but little did we know that two weeks would turn into the whole rest of the school year!
Now it is April 8 and I have been stuck here for almost four weeks which seems like two months. I’ve been trying to adjust to this whole situation, which is not the easiest thing, but I’ve been trying to look at the bright side of this crisis.
Here are some things that I’ve been doing to make this time easier: I’ve discovered I’m not such a failure at cooking. I’ve made pancakes, cookies, brownies, and a new dish that I invented which I call “burnt peas and corn.” Trust me, it’s delicious. I’ve also been drawing, going on walks, playing soccer and wii, and online shopping. My parents and I have played lots of games, too. I even learned how to play a new game called Mexican dominos, which is one of my favorite things to do now!
So I guess what I’ve decided is it’s not that bad because you can discover new things that you never would have had time to do before all this.
